You can configure fields in Zilliant CPQ to display or capture important object data in the following UI locations:

Prerequisites
To configure fields:
Verify that you have the UI EXTENSIBILITY PERMISSION. For details on assigning permissions, read Role management.
Add fields
Open the customization dialog:
From the object’s detailed information tab. At Step 4, select Edit next to the name of a section and go to the Fields tab.
From a custom tab. At Step 4, select Edit next to the name of a section and go to the Fields tab.
Select + Add New Field or + Add Field.
Locate a standard or custom attribute, then turn on the switch next to its name.
Note
If you’re adding a business relation attribute to the object detailed information tab, locate it and select Expand. Then, turn on the switch next to the value you want to display in the field, typically Name, ERP ID, or External ID.
Select Save, then select Publish.
Manage field visibility
Open the customization dialog:
From the object’s detailed information tab. At Step 4, select Edit next to the name of a section and go to the Fields tab.
From a custom tab. At Step 4, select Edit next to the name of a section and go to the Fields tab.
Turn on or off the Visible switch next to the field name.
Select Publish.
Make a field read-only
Open the customization dialog:
From the object’s detailed information tab. At Step 4, select Edit next to the name of a section and go to the Fields tab.
From a custom tab. At Step 4, select Edit next to the name of a section and go to the Fields tab.
Turn on or off the Read-Only switch next to the field name.
Select Publish.
Rearrange fields
Open the customization dialog:
From the object’s detailed information tab. At Step 4, select Edit next to the name of a section and go to the Fields tab.
From a custom tab. At Step 4, select Edit next to the name of a section and go to the Fields tab.
Drag the field to the desired position.
Select Publish.
Add localized field labels
Open the customization dialog:
From the object’s detailed information tab. At Step 4, select Edit next to the name of a section and go to the Fields tab.
From a custom tab. At Step 4, select Edit next to the name of a section and go to the Fields tab.
Select Edit next to the field name, then go to the Localization tab.
Select + Add Localized Label.
From the Language dropdown field, select a language.
In the Label field, enter a field label.
Repeat Steps 3–5 for each language you need.
Select Save.
At the top of the dialog, next to the field name, select Back to return to the field list.
Select Publish.
Tip
To display the new labels in the UI, sign out and then sign back in to CPQ.
Restrict field visibility by UI profile
Open the customization dialog:
From the object’s detailed information tab. At Step 4, select Edit next to the name of a section and go to the Fields tab.
From a custom tab. At Step 4, select Edit next to the name of a section and go to the Fields tab.
Select Edit next to the field name, then go to the Visibility tab.
Select + Add Profile to Hide Field From.
Select the UI profiles, then select Add Profile.
Select Save.
At the top of the dialog, next to the field name, select Back to return to the field list.
Select Publish.
Make a field read-only for specific UI profiles
Open the customization dialog:
From the object’s detailed information tab. At Step 4, select Edit next to the name of a section and go to the Fields tab.
From a custom tab. At Step 4, select Edit next to the name of a section and go to the Fields tab.
Select Edit next to the field name, then go to the Read-Only tab.
Select + Add Profile to Disable Field From.
Select the UI profiles, then select Add Profile.
Select Save.
At the top of the dialog, next to the field name, select Back to return to the field list.
Select Publish.
Manage field settings
Open the customization dialog:
From a custom tab. At Step 4, select Edit next to the name of a section and go to the Fields tab.
Select Edit next to the field name, then go to the Attributes tab.
Turn on or off the Mandatory and Multi-line switches to control the field behavior.
(Available for fields based on relational attributes.) From the Control dropdown field, select how to display the field values in the creation dialog:
Dropdown—Show values in the dropdown list.
Value Help Picker—Show values in a table.
(Available for fields based on relational attributes.) Control what value of a relational attribute to display in the dropdown list or in the value help picker table. For example, you can choose to display an object name or an object ERP ID:
If at Step 3 you selected Dropdown, select Edit next to the value name, then select the needed value. Select Save.
If at Step 3 you selected Value Help Picker, select + Add Additional Attribute. Turn on the switch next to the needed value, then select Save.
Select Save.
At the top of the dialog, next to the field name, select Back to return to the field list.
Select Publish.
Apply mass restrictions to fields
You can hide or make several fields read-only at once for multiple UI profiles. This helps you quickly control what each profile can see or edit.
To apply mass restrictions:
Open the customization dialog:
From the object’s detailed information tab. At Step 4, select Edit next to the name of a section and go to the Fields tab.
From a custom tab. At Step 4, select Edit next to the name of a section and go to the Fields tab.
Select Mass Restrictions, then select + Add Profiles for Mass Restrictions.
Select one or multiple UI profiles, then select Add Profile.
Select Next.
In the Hide tab, select + Add, then select the fields to hide for the selected UI profiles. Select Add.
In the Read-Only tab, select + Add, then select the fields to make read-only for the selected UI profiles. Select Add.
Select Save, then select Publish.
