A
active pricing
The active pricing model calculating your organization’s prices in the Zilliant system. It is a combination of a framework and of pricing records.
adjustment
A user-defined value that alters cost or price values based on certain scope values and numeric modifiers, such as a percentage discount and an effective start and end date.
adjustment group
A group of in-scope adjustments that overall alter cost or price values in a specific way, such as a percentage increase, a percentage decrease, a flat value increase, or a flat value decrease.
adjustment type
Predetermined set of mathematical operators used to adjust prices in a specific way. Examples: percentage increase, flat increase, percentage decrease, flat decrease.
C
calculation section
A framework element consisting of one adjustment group and one calculation table.
calculation table
Cost or price values calculated from usage rules and input data (such as costs and adjustments) for framework elements to the left of the calculation table. These values flow through as inputs to the next framework element.
core data
Foundational data from Zilliant’s standard data model, including products, accounts, or transactions.
cost table
Initial set of cost records. A framework must have either a starting cost table or a price table, and only one.
D
DAL
See data access layer.
data access layer
Software design pattern that separates the data access logic of an application from its business logic. It acts as an intermediary between the application's business logic and the underlying data storage.
discount
Amount discounted from a list price.
discount price
Reduced price during promotions or sales.
discount percentage
Discount percentage of a list price.
draft framework
An isolated editing view of your organization’s active pricing model.
F
framework
A step-by-step pricing model that calculates prices by applying sequential elements to cost or price values. You can configure element sequencing and granularity for this model.
framework element
A component of a step-by-step pricing model. Examples of framework elements include a cost table, price table, adjustment group, or calculation table.
K
KPI
See key performance indicator.
key performance indicator
Specific type of calculated attribute whose purpose is to provide at-a-glance summary information to facilitate rapid decisions.
L
list price
Single reference price for a product. Most often appears in price lists, catalogs, or internal systems, and serves as the baseline for other price types. Also manufacturer’s price, catalog price, reference price.
P
PGA scope
Combination of action type scope, customer ID, product group ID, and record ID.
In Campaign Manager, PGA scope defines unique actions. It specifies how Campaign Manager handles potential duplicate actions in a single publish, as well as how new actions are published against active, published actions.
price management
Process of structuring, reviewing, and updating pricing logic and data to reflect strategy. Focuses on governance.
price records
General term for all values in the pricing system: starting values, adjustments, and final computed prices.
price table
Initial set of price records. A framework must have either a cost table or a price table, and only one.
pricing waterfall
Analysis method used to visualize and examine the price transformation process.
S
scenario
Enables you to effectively review, analyze, and update your organization’s pricing data saved in the Zilliant system. When you create a scenario, the application copies your organization’s active pricing view and creates a space where you can test the impact of your new pricing strategy before publishing it.
scope
Selected attributes to segment your pricing data according to your business needs. It can impact part or all of the cost or price values produced by the previous framework element. For example, when you create an adjustment, the system applies it only to the values defined in that scope.
T
target price
Price at which a seller expects to sell a product, considering both market prices and desired profit margins.
template
Predefined framework used to accelerate setup of a typical pricing waterfall. Provides a starting point with standard elements.
total price
Cumulative cost of all purchased units, including discounts or fees.
U
usage rule
If multiple scopes exist for an adjustment group, this determines which values (costs, prices, or adjustments) to use first.
Z
ZOrg
Also Zilliant org. A ZOrg is a virtual space provided to a Zilliant customer. It includes all customer data, applications, and customizations. A ZOrg can include a Salesforce org and ZCloud configurations.
