Configure data publishing

To configure data publishing, you must establish a connection between two worksheets: a template worksheet that contains updated base data, and a worksheet in the base workbook into which you want to publish that data. Then, you will define specific columns in the template worksheet that you want to associate with particular columns in the base worksheet.

Important

Perform the following steps for each worksheet in your template workbook.

  1. Map your template worksheet to a worksheet in the base workbook.
    1. In the Template Configuration workbook, go to the Publish Target worksheet.
    2. Find a row with the name of the template worksheet.
    3. In that row, in the Publish Target Entity column, enter the entity name of the worksheet from the base workbook.
      Tip

To find the entity name, open a worksheet, select Properties > General properties > locate the Source entity field.

    4. In the Filters column, optionally specify the filter expression in JSON format to limit which data should be published (for example, {"filterName": "Publish","filterExpression": "Publish eq 1"}).
  2. Map columns from the worksheets which you mapped in Step 1.
    1. In the Template Configuration workbook, go to the Fields worksheet.
    2. Find a row with the name of the column from your template worksheet.
    3. In that row, in the Publish Target column, enter the system name of the column from the base workbook.
    4. Repeat Steps 2a–2c for each needed column.
      Important

You must map all business keys.

Example

You have the Base Data base workbook and the Update Z Prices template.

You want to publish data from the FinalStartDate column in the Update Z Prices > List Prices Update worksheet into the ValidFrom column in the Base Data > List Prices worksheet.

To do this, go to the Template Configuration > Publish Target worksheet and enter the entity name of the Base Data > List Prices worksheet.

Configure data publishing

Then, go to the Template Configuration > Fields worksheet and specify the system name of your target column (ValidFrom) from the Base Data > List Prices worksheet.
