Add dynamic attributes to products

Use one of the following methods to add a dynamic attribute to a product:
Add a dynamic attribute from a knowledge base Excel spreadsheet
To add a dynamic attribute to a product from a knowledge base Excel spreadsheet, follow the Create a dynamic attribute from a knowledge base Excel spreadsheet in Create dynamic attributes.
Add a dynamic attribute from the knowledge base UI
- From the application left navigation area, select Products.
- Select a product.
- From the top navigation bar, select Knowledge Base.
- Select a knowledge base.
- On the Attributes tab, select .
- Select dynamic attributes, then select Add.
Add a dynamic attribute to the knowledge base class for a classified product
You can also synchronize classified products from an external ERP system if you integrated Zilliant CPQ with it. For details, read About SAP ERP integration.
You can define dynamic attributes of a classified product using a knowledge base class (KBClass). A KBClass serves as the knowledge base for classified products but does not permit the definition of configuration rules.
To create a new class with dynamic attributes:
- From the application left navigation area, select Model.
- From the top navigation bar, select Classes Management.
- Select to create a new class. Enter a name for the class, then select Create.
- Select the created class from the list.
- On the Attributes tab, select to add dynamic attributes. Select attributes, then select Add.
- On the bottom button bar, select Save.
The new class with dynamic attributes is created.
Now, you need to assign the new class to a classified product:
- From the application left navigation area, select Products.
- Select a classified product.
- From the top navigation bar, select Knowledge Base.
- Select a link button to link the knowledge base class to the product.
- Create a knowledge base snapshot to assign the default value for dynamic attributes in the class.
