About leads

Article summary

Leads are prospective customers and opportunities that help your company drive sales. Leads are generated from exhibitions, marketing promotions, and email campaigns. They also can be referred by existing customers.

In Zilliant CPQ, a lead document is associated with an account and (if available) a contact. A lead represents the sales phase that precedes an opportunity.

View lead documents

Leads do not require specific configuration.

To view the document from which a lead was generated:

  1. From the application left navigation area, select Administration.
  2. From Master Data Management, select Sales Document Source.
  3. Select a document to view.

View leads

  1. From the application left navigation area, select Opportunities.
  2. Select All Leads to view existing leads.

Convert leads into opportunities

Convert leads into opportunities by advancing the sales phase from the first phase (reserved for leads) to the second phase. For more information about sales phases, read Configure opportunity sales phases.
