Configure equipment

Learn how to add, configure, and edit equipment.

Add and configure equipment

1. From the application left navigation area, select Administration.
2. From Master Data Management, select Equipment Category.
3. Select to add a row to the list.
4. Select the newly added row to define equipment:
   • Name—Enter a name for the equipment.
   • External Id—Enter the equipment ID.
   • ERP Id—Enter the ERP ID for the equipment.
5. Select Save.

Define equipment status

1. From the application left navigation area, select Administration.
2. From Master Data Management, select Equipment Status.
3. Define the status of the equipment. For example, Active, Installed, Inactive.

View and edit equipment

From the Accounts page

To view equipment that's associated with a specific account:

1. From the left navigation area, select Accounts.
2. Select an account from the list.
3. Select Equipment.

From the Equipment page

Alternatively, view and edit equipment in Equipment:

1. From the application left navigation area, select Equipment.
2. Select a pre-configured search expression to search available equipment items.
3. Select equipment to view or edit. The following tabs are available for each equipment item:
   • Sub Equipment—A child product associated with the equipment.
   • BOM—Bill of materials. Documentation on the equipment, its products, and spare parts in the hierarchy.
     Note

     If equipment does not have a separate BOM, refer to the associated Product BOM. Read Equipment and Product BOM sync.

   • Partners—For example, sold-to and ship-to partners.
   • Sales Data Determination—Information about the organization, channel, and division.
   • Attachments—Files that contain more information about the equipment.

Map the product BOM to equipment

You can maintain BOM in both Equipment and Product objects. You do not need to maintain separate BOMs if a product BOM is sufficient for the equipment hierarchy.

To map the product BOM to equipment:

1. From the application left navigation area, select Equipment.
2. From the list, select equipment to view and edit:
   • Product Name—Enter the product associated with this equipment.
   • Select the product that you entered.
   • On the Product top navigation bar, select Product BOM.
   • In the Maintenance BOM column, set the switch to YES for the appropriate hierarchy level. For example, Spare Parts.

You can now view the equipment BOM in the Commerce portal.
