Article summary

After a manager approves an agreement under negotiation, you can generate and download a proposal. Send the proposal to your customer for review to confirm the agreement terms. Once the customer agrees to them, you can publish the agreement under negotiation to finalize the deal.

Learn how to work with proposals:

Create a proposal

  1. From the application left navigation area, select Agreement.

  2. From the top navigation bar, select All Agreements (Under Negotiation).

  3. Select an agreement.

  4. From the bottom button bar, select Reports > Generate Proposal.

  5. Configure the proposal:

    1. Proposal Options—Select one or more options to include with the proposal.

    2. Proposal Settings—Select format and language settings, and proposal templates.

    3. Turn on or off the Save Proposal as Attachment switch. For details, read the section below.

  6. Select Download.

Save the latest proposal as an agreement attachment

You can save the latest generated proposal as an agreement attachment. To do this, while creating a proposal, set the Save Proposal as Attachment switch to YES.

Tip

Only the latest proposal is saved. When you create a new proposal, it overrides the previous proposal in the attachments.

To open the latest proposal, follow these steps:

  1. From the application left navigation area, select Agreement.

  2. From the top navigation bar, select All Agreements (Under Negotiation).

  3. Select an agreement.

  4. From the top navigation bar, select Attachments.

  5. Select the latest_generated_proposal folder.

Mark proposal as sent

To mark proposal as sent in the agreement under negotiation:

  1. From the application left navigation area, select Agreement.

  2. From the top navigation bar, select All Agreements (Under Negotiation).

  3. Select an agreement.

  4. From the bottom button bar, select Actions > Mark Proposal Sent.

Configure name format for proposals

Note

If you use both agreements management and quoting capabilities in Zilliant CPQ, the defined name format applies to proposals in both agreements and quotes.

  1. From the application left navigation area, select Administration.

  2. From the top navigation bar, select Master Data Management.

  3. Scroll or search to locate Setting String and select it from the list.

  4. Select The format for quote report title. Valid parameters: {QUOTE_ID}, {QUOTE_TITLE}, {VERSION}, {TEMPLATE_NAME}.

  5. In the Setting Value String field, use the following parameters to define the name format:

    • {QUOTE_ID}—Agreement ID.

    • {QUOTE_TITLE}—Agreement title.

    • {QUOTE_REFERENCE}—Agreement reference.

    • {VERSION}—Agreement version.

    • {TEMPLATE_NAME}—Name of the proposal template.

  6. Select Save.
