This topic is designed for use only by configuration teams.
A pricing strategy is a collection of parameters that help achieve the most favorable results to satisfy a specific business need. Such strategies can be implemented as a formula, or as an input to a mathematical solver.
Each strategy is represented on a separate worksheet in scenario workbooks.
Learn how to work with strategy worksheets in scenarios:
To add a new or updated strategy worksheet, scopes, or parameters to an existing scenario, rebuild that scenario.
Create a strategy worksheet
- From the Price IQ Manager Dashboard, expand the Setup folder.
- Select the Scenario Config workbook.
- On the Param Tabs worksheet, select Insert Row.
- Enter information or make selections to create a strategy worksheet. To learn how to fill in the fields, read about the Param Tabs worksheet.
- Select Save.
Define scope columns
Scope columns are a collection of drop-down and type-ahead columns that define the business segment a strategy line applies to.
- From the Price IQ Manager Dashboard, expand the Setup folder.
- Select the Scenario Config workbook.
- On the Param Tabs Scope worksheet, select Insert Row.
- Enter information or make selections to create a scope column. To learn how to fill in the fields, read about the Param Tabs Scope worksheet.
- Select Save.
Define parameter columns
Parameter columns define values to be set by a strategy line.
- From the Price IQ Manager Dashboard, expand the Setup folder.
- Select the Scenario Config workbook.
- On the Fields worksheet, locate a row with the column you want to use as a parameter.
- In that row, edit the Param Tab and Default Value fields.
- Param Tab—Enter the name of your strategy worksheet.
- Default Value—(Optional.) Enter the default value that populates the column on the strategy worksheet when users build or refresh scenarios.Tip
- If you enter a default value, the application will create the All strategy line when you build a scenario.
- If you leave default values for all parameters blank, the system won't create the All strategy line.
