Integrating Microsoft Outlook with Zilliant CPQ enables you to communicate efficiently from a single platform. It also aids transparency about the state of each engagement across your organization.
Zilliant CPQ supports integration for the following scenarios:
- Outlook add-in (client-based integration)
- Server-side integration
Outlook add-in
Based on an inbound email, the add-in detects:
- Known contacts
- Related accounts
- Related opportunities and quotes
You can then associate Outlook email with one or more of these objects in the CRM system.
When manually synchronizing an email, the integration engine maps email addresses to known contacts in the CRM system. If it cannot resolve an email address to a contact, the email activity in CRM discovers and creates a contact to quickly auto-populate the application.
The Outlook add-in further enables you to:
- Search objects in CRM
- Create new accounts, contacts, opportunities, and quotes
- Synchronize meetings with CRM

Server-side integration
Server-side integration supports automatic update by periodically synchronizing objects between CRM and Microsoft Exchange.
Supported objects are contact information (bi-directionally) meaning that e.g. address and contact updates will sync between both systems automatically.
Additionally, emails or meetings flagged with separate labels / categories will be picked up by the periodic sync and replicate automatically from Outlook into CRM keeping a true interaction history up to date.

Requirements
The Outlook integration requires additional licenses. Contact your Zilliant representative about how to obtain licenses and the installation file for the add-in.
