When possible, Zilliant documentation avoids using biased language. We have maintained some terms to avoid affecting customer implementations.
If a user closes their browser window with unsaved changes to quotes, the system may "lock" access, preventing them from working with the modified records.
If the user starts another session, the system notifies them that they have another active session.
To clear the system lock, the user must select one of the following options:
- Yes, continue here—The system releases the lock. Unsaved changes in the previous session are lost.
- No—The system does not release the lock. The user does not lose unsaved changes, but must continue in the previous session.
Administrative privileges
If you have admin privileges, you can:
- Enable users to release locked records
- Release locked records on a user's behalf
Enable users to release locked records
- From the application left navigation area, select Administration.
- From Master Data Management, select Setting Boolean.
- Select Enable End-User to release locks from past session.
- Set the Setting Value Boolean switch to YES.
Release locked user records
Administrators have a real-time overview of objects that are locked and can release locks on behalf of users.
Before releasing a locked user record, make sure you understand the consequences of this action. Release locks only if you are certain they are not valid and can be deleted without impairing an active user process. Releasing a lock held by an active user can result in loss of data or data inconsistencies.
- Select Administration.
- On the top navigation bar, select Lock Handling.
- Select an entry to unlock, then select the lock icon on the entry row.
- Select Yes to confirm the action.
