Configure relative date and time
You can create search queries based on date and time, or on specific users. For example, you can define search queries such as Last Two Quarters, Next Quarter, or Users in My Organization.
Relative date and time selections
Use a predefined relative date and time selection when searching for specific objects. These include:
- 90 Days from today
- First day of last month
- First day of last quarter
- First day of last year
- First day of next month
- First day of next quarter
- First day of next year
- First day of this month
- First day of this quarter
- First day of this year
- Last day of next month
- Last day of next quarter
- Last day of next year
- Last year, first day of next month
- Last year, first day of next quarter
- Last year, first day of this month
- Last year, first day of this quarter
- Last year, today’s date
- Today's date
There is only one relative time select: Now. You cannot create new time selections.
Create relative date queries
Administrators can create custom relative date queries to meet specific business requirements. To do this, perform the following steps:
- From the application left navigation area, select Administration.
- From Master Data Management, select Relative Selects.
- Select to add a row to the list.
- Select the newly created item, and in the Configuration tab:
- Name—Enter a name.
- Type—Choose the unit, such as days, weeks, months, quarters, or years.
- Offset—Indicates when the resulting date should be:
- An offset of zero indicates today's date
- A negative offset indicates a date in the past
- A positive offset indicates a date in the future
- Day of the Month—(Optional.) Enter the appropriate value.
- Select Save.
In the Resulting Filtering Date, verify the search you have configured. For example, if today is May 7, and you have defined Type=Month with an offset of 1, the resulting date should be June 7.
Relative user selections
Use predefined, relative user selections such as:
- Me / Current Logged-In User
- Users in My Organization Unit
- Users in my Organization Hierarchy
You cannot add a custom relative user select query.
