Article summary

Use organization structure to enable or restrict user access to account, contact, and product, and transaction data. In Zilliant CPQ, you enable or limit visibility by setting up an organizational unit, division, and distribution channel called a Sales Area.

Define an organization structure

  1. From the application left navigation area, select Administration.
  2. From the top navigation bar, select Organizational Unit.
  3. Select + to add a line to the list, then select the line to open the organizational unit details page.
  4. Enter or select details on the Overview page to set up the organizational unit:
    • Employees—Select the tile or the Employees tab to assign employees to the organizational unit.
    • OrgUnit—Select the tile or the Child Org Unit tab to create subordinate organizational units.
    • Name—Required. Enter a unique name for the organization structure.
    • Is Sales Organization, Is Sales Office, Is Sales Group—Set one or more values to yes to designate how this organizational unit is used.
    • Currency—Select the tile or the Currency field to assign a currency to the organizational unit. This is useful if accounts or prospects do not maintain a currency type.

View the hierarchy

You can view the structure of each organization unit as a hierarchy, which clearly illustrates the parent and child relationships of each unit. From the list of organizational units, select Hierarchy View from the sub-navigation bar.
