License management

Each user must have a valid license assigned to their user record.

Assign licenses

Administrators with the MANAGE LICENSE PERMISSION can view license data and assign user licenses.

1. From the CPQ application left navigation area, select Administration.
2. From the top navigation bar, select License Management.

From here, you can view:

• Number of purchased licenses and when they were purchased
• Currently assigned licenses
• Available licenses

To assign a license to a user:

1. From the application left navigation area, select Administration.
2. From the top navigation bar, select User Management.
3. In a user row, set the Assign License switch to YES.

Adjust subscribed licenses

Administrators can subscribe to (or unsubscribe from) licenses.

To subscribe to licenses:

1. From the License Management page, enter the desired number of new licenses in the box.
2. Select Subscribe.
3. Acknowledge the terms and conditions statements, then select Confirm.

To unsubscribe from licenses, enter the number of licenses to unsubscribe from, then select Unsubscribe. Select Yes to confirm.

License expiration notification

Use the license validity table to track license expiration dates and notification details about expiring licenses. You can set the number of days in advance of expiration that a notification banner will appear in the browser. The banner shows a countdown of days until expiration, then shows a message indicating that the license has expired.

When you renew a license and update its expiration date in this table, the notification banner no longer appears after you refresh the browser or sign into a new session.
