Article summary

eCommerce allows you to manage user permissions for order and inquiry processes at the application level. This means that according to your operation settings, the eCommerce application may or may not support the order process, inquiry process, or both for all users.

For example, depending on your operation settings, users in customer company accounts may be allowed to place inquiries and orders, while users in prospect company accounts may only be permitted to browse and inquire about product offerings.

To manage order and inquiry processes at the application level:

  1. From the top navigation bar, select your account.
  2. From the dropdown menu, select Commerce Administration.
    Note

You must have the Commerce System Administrator role to access this menu item.

  3. From the left navigation area, select Operation Settings.
  4. From the top sub-navigation bar, select Order & Inquiry.
  5. Set access to the order and inquiry processes on or off by account type.

Download an order or inquiry summary

After successfully placing an order or inquiry, eCommerce allows a user to download a .pdf summary of their order or summary. To enable this in eCommerce:

  2. From the top navigation bar, select Master Data Management.
  3. Select Proposal Report Template.
  4. Select a template, or create one by selecting Add.

Manage the following attributes for a template:

  • Name—Name of the template.
  • Primary Object—The summary type. Possible values are “Quote” and “Order.”
  • Position—Determines the template’s order when eCommerce merges templates into a summary.
  • Default in commerce—Set to “Yes” to allow eCommerce to use this template.
