Article summary

You can hide lines in the Line Items grid. You might want to hide lines from users, for example, if they can't edit them.

Prerequisites

Before configuring this feature, make sure that the following fields are visible and can be edited:

  • Hide Non-Editable Lines on the Product Selector Configuration object.
  • Global Line List Filter object:
    • Filter Name
    • Line Item Field Name

If the fields are not visible or can't be edited, confirm that they have been added to the object's page layout and are visible in the user's profile. For detailed instructions on how to add fields and check for visibility, refer to Make fields visible or editable.

Hide non-editable lines

You can enable users to see only editable lines in their Line Items list. For more information on editable and non-editable lines, see Editable or deletable lines and columns.

  1. From the Lightning App Launcher, go to the appropriate Product Selector Configuration.
  2. On the Details tab, select the Hide Non-Editable Lines checkbox.
Note

This feature does not apply to editable lines that are in a user's Workspace. Even if you mark those lines as notEditable in the user's Line Items list, they won't be excluded from every other list.

Use Global Line filters to hide lines

To hide lines from the Line Items list, use a checkbox Salesforce field on the zpl_ContractLineItem_c, zpl_PriceLookupLine_c, and zpl_DealLine_c objects.

Note

The checkbox field can be a standard Salesforce field or a Salesforce formula field. If you use a Salesforce formula field, the criteria to hide a line is dynamic and is based on the session. Session, user, and other attributes from a specific deal can be used to determine if a line on the deal is shown at the exact time to a specifc user.

  1. From the Lightning App Launcher, go to the appropriate Product Selector Configuration.
  2. On the Related tab, in the Global Line List Filters section, select New.
  3. In the New Global Line List Filter dialog, specify values to create the filter:
    • Filter Name—Enter a name for the filter.
    • Line Item Field Name—Enter the API name of a Boolean Salesforce formula field on the line object. If that field evaluates to TRUE, then the line will appear.
  4. Select Save.
