Custom actions

As an alternative to the the process of running a campaign based on an engine output, Campaign Manager allows you to import custom actions directly into the Action Review worksheet.

To import your custom actions into Campaign Manager, assemble them as a CSV file with the required columns. Then perform the following steps.

Prepare to import a custom action

1. If your custom action needs to reference a new action type, then add an action type. Leave the Engine Output Worksheet View field empty.
2. If your custom action needs to reference a new campaign, then go to the Campaigns worksheet and add a campaign.
3. If it doesn't already exist, add a campaign action based on the action type from step 1.
4. Select the campaign from step 2 and run the Activate Selected Campaigns worksheet action. For more information about this worksheet action, read Worksheet actions.

Import and publish a custom action

1. Go to the Action Review worksheet and import your custom action.
2. Run the Validate Selected Actions worksheet action. For more information about this worksheet action, read Worksheet actions.
3. Review the validation results in the worksheet’s KPI cards.
4. Once Campaign Manager completes the validation, run the Publish Selected Actions worksheet action. For more information about this worksheet action, read Worksheet actions.

Running the Publish Selected Actions worksheet action publishes your custom action to your desired end user system. This worksheet action also triggers Campaign Manager to automatically validate your custom action in case you skipped step 2.
