Configure mail server for email notifications

Administrators can set up and configure email notifications in their mail server. CPQ supports the following protocols:

  • SMTP—Simple Mail Transfer Protocol.
  • STARTTLS—A protocol command to inform the email server that the email client wants to upgrade to a secure connection using TLS or SSL.

Configure mail server settings

  1. From the application left navigation area, select Administration.
  2. From the top navigation bar, select Operation Settings.
  3. Select Email Settings.
  4. Define property values:
    • SMTP Host—The SMTP server to connect to. Example: smtp.office365.com.
    • SMTP Server Username—Default SMTP username. For example, notifications@inmindcloud.com.
    • SMTP Port Number—SMTP server port to connect to, such as 25, 57, or 465.
    • SMTP Authentication—Defaults to False. If set to True, the server attempts to authenticate the user using the AUTH command.
    • To enable STARTTLS on the Server—Defaults to False. A value of True enables the use of the STARTTLS command (if supported by the server) to switch to a TLS-protected connection before issuing login commands.
    • SMTP Server Password—Server password.
  5. Select Save.
