About integration

If you already use Zilliant Price Manager, you can integrate Zilliant CPQ with Tableau dashboards to embed real-time, interactive analytics directly into your quoting and agreement workflows. This integration allows you to access meaningful insights, such as historical sales trends or product-level margin analysis, without leaving CPQ. This helps you make informed pricing and negotiation decisions faster and with more transparency.

With visual analytics through Tableau, you can:

  • Understand recommended prices more clearly with visual summaries.

  • Analyze customer price points across similar microsegments to guide decision-making.

  • Support better collaboration between pricing and sales by giving sellers access to explainable pricing insights.

  • Use customer scorecards to make smarter quoting decisions.

You can access visual analytics from both header and line item levels in:

  • Quotes

  • Agreements under negotiation

  • Published agreements

The integration is flexible and can pass context-specific data, such as customer IDs or selected products, into Tableau reports to generate dynamic views.

Prerequisites

To enable visual analytics through Tableau, your organization must use Zilliant Price Manager. The integration relies on Zilliant Report API External link indicator to securely retrieve Tableau report URLs and embed them in CPQ. This allows users to view the reports directly without signing in to Tableau.

Use cases

Explore the following use cases to understand how visual analytics through Tableau can enhance your workflows.

Make smarter pricing decisions with account and region insights

You’re preparing to negotiate an agreement with a customer. You want to understand their historical sales trends and how pricing compares across sales regions. Without this context, it’s difficult to tailor your pricing strategy or justify recommendations during negotiation.

Solution

Embed analytics at the agreement header level to view account-specific and region-specific insights, such as sales trends and regional benchmarks. This helps you make data-driven pricing decisions in real time.

Strengthen line item negotiation with product-level insights

During agreement negotiations, you often need to adjust prices at the product level. It’s challenging without immediate access to supporting data, such as historical purchase volumes or margin simulations.

Solution

Embed a product-specific analytics at the agreement line item level. This helps you view margin, competitiveness, and purchase history insights for each selected line item without leaving CPQ.
