The Inventory (INV) output worksheet displays all data related to products in the INV Product Map worksheet.
This output worksheet is based on data outputs, including Baseline time periods, from the Targeted Sales (TS) engine. To use this worksheet, run the TS engine first.
Configuration
To configure this output worksheet, adjust the following components.
Customer Scope
To specify any applicable customer scoping:
- Go to the Sales IQ > Outputs > Customers worksheet. Depending on your user permissions, the worksheet will resemble the following image.
- Navigate to the INV Customer Scope calculated column.
- Edit the calculated column to use any available customer attributes that best define the scope for the INV output worksheet. If you do not need to specify customer scope for this output worksheet, set the calculated column’s value to All.
For more information on calculated columns, read Calculated columns.
Product Mapping
The INV output worksheet relies on the presence of targeted inventory product data uploaded to the Sales IQ > Outputs > INV Product Map worksheet. Depending on your user permissions, the worksheet will resemble the following image.
This worksheet contains the following fields:
- Current Product—Identifies an existing TS Product Group value the output worksheet should target for an action.
- Target Product—Identifies a Product Group Id the output worksheet should identify with any published actions. Uploaded values for Current Product and Target Product may be the same.
- Customer Scope—Identifies any relevant customer scope for the Current Product + Target Product combination. If you do not need to specify customer scope, set this calculated column’s value to All to match the INV Customer Scope’s value of All.
To define your product mapping:
Select Export and download a blank template.
Fill out the template with the desired mapping.
For example,If the following conditions are met:
- You want customers in Branch 10 who previously purchased Product A to buy more of Product A.
- You want customers in Branch 20 who previously purchased Product B or C to buy more of Product C.
Then use the following configuration:
- Set the INV Customer Scope calculated column to reference the branch field (with values of 10 or 20).
- Upload three rows of data to the INV Product Map worksheet with the following values:
Current Product Target Product Customer Scope A A 10 B C 20 C C 20 The INV output worksheet will reference the TS Output worksheet to identify all customers in Branch 10 who previously purchased Product A, and all customers in Branch 20 who previously purchased Product B or C. The INV output worksheet will then display a potential action for all of the former customers to buy more of Product A and the latter customers to buy more of Product B.
Select Import and import your mapping.
For more on importing and exporting data, read Import and export data.
Outputs
To view the results of running the INV output worksheet, go to the INV Output worksheet. Depending on your user permissions, the worksheet will resemble the following image.
This output worksheet generates data that has matching values in the TS Output worksheet and INV Product Map worksheet based on their TS Product Group Id columns. The INV Output worksheet contains the following metric fields:
- Baseline Volume—Total volume during the Baseline time period. The output worksheet measures this volume in TS Volume Metric.
- Baseline Transaction Count—Total number of transactions during the Baseline time period.
- Last Sale Period—Most recent aggregation period with an observed transaction.
- Action Impact—The Baseline Volume by default. Modify this calculated column as needed to create the desired Action Impact metric.
- Current—The Baseline Volume by default. Modify this calculated column as needed to capture the best measure of the “Current” state for any actions created.
- Target—The Baseline Volume by default. Modify this calculated column as needed to capture the best measure of the “Target” state for any actions created.
