Article summary

Administrators can create home pages that are tailored to specific users, enabling them to focus on prioritized daily tasks.

In addition, administrators can configure custom widgets for dashboards. Widgets enable you to define:

  • Data you want to display
  • How to display data
  • Navigation options

Add and configure widgets

  1. From the application left navigation area, select Administration.
  2. Select Widget Administration, then select Widget.
  3. Select Add to add a widget, then select the new widget in the list to define it.

Widget Details

  • Name—Enter the widget name. This name displays on the Dashboard.
  • Placement—Specify the location where you want the widget to appear. Available options are Home – Dashboard and Account Detail Overview – Dashboard.
  • Widget Type—Define the widget type. See Widget Types.
  • Chart Type—Available only if you select Chart Tile as the widget type. You can create a pie chart, bar chart, column chart, or donut chart.
  • Sort By—Applicable only to Chart Tile widgets. Select how the chart is sorted. Available options are Key and Label.
  • Accent Color—The color of the left border, the header, and the chart or key figure.
  • Icon Upload—Available only if you select Icon Tile as the widget type.

Navigation Options

  • Navigation Target—Destination. Available options are:

    • No action (no navigation available)
    • Result Page (for example, when All Opportunity is selected, the user is taken to the list of all opportunities)
    • Relative Link
    • Full URL (any URL)
    Note

    To go to records in a Table tile, select No action.

  • URL—Relative URL pointing to specific targets in the application (Analytics, Cockpit, Reports, Pipeline, Guided Selling, Favorites) or a Full URL.

  • Open in Tab—Applicable only if the Full URL is selected. Available options are: current tab and new tab.

Data Configuration—Localization

  • Header Level—Define translation for the header-level label.
  • Sub-Header Level—Define translation for the sub header-level label.

Data Configuration—Data Selection

  • Table—Define the table from which the widget will get its data. Available options are:
    • Account Data Set
    • Lead Data Set
    • Opportunity Data Set
    • Quote Data Set
    • Order Data Set
    • Activity Task
    • Activity Email
    • Activity Phone
    • Activity Meeting
  • Saved Search—Select a preconfigured saved search. Read Search.
  • Main Calculated Field and its Operator—Available only for Number tiles. Available operators are Max, Min, Average, and Sum.
  • Additional Field and its Operator—Available only for Number tiles. Available operators are: # (for absolute values) and % (for percentages).
  • Group By and Operator—Available only for Number tiles. Available operators are: # (for absolute values) and % (for percentages).
  • Group By (Date Interval)—**Available only if a field of type Date is selected in the Group By field. Available intervals are: Monthly, Quarterly, and Yearly.

You can preview the configured widget in the Preview section.

Widget types

  • Number tile—Support aggregated data. For example, the total number of opportunities owned by the current user or the total number of accounts assigned to the user.
  • Chart tile—Render pie, donut, bar, or column charts. Use to display opportunities by sales phase or quotes by status.
  • Icon tile—Used to store internal or external links. Can be uploaded to provide a better visual experience for users.
  • Table tile—Application entire data set (Account, Quote, Products, Opportunity, Leads, e-mails) can be rendered as a table list view for easy access.
  • MX Widgets (delivered by Zilliant CPQ)—Custom widgets that display upcoming tasks and activities. Requires a special layout.

Create widget profiles

A widget profile enables you to group widgets and then assign them to a specific user role. A widget profile must have a defined name and status (active or inactive). Optionally, you define and use sections to group widgets.

  1. From the application left navigation area, select Administration.
  2. Select Widget Administration, then select Widget Profile.
  3. Select Add to add a widget profile, then select the new profile in the list to define it.

Assign a widget to a widget profile

After you create a widget profile, assign the widgets to the profile:

  1. In the Widget Profile List, select Widgets.
  2. Select Add to select a widget to add to the profile.
  3. Select Add.

Assign a widget profile to a role

  1. From the application left navigation area, select Administration.
  2. From the top navigation bar, select Role Management.
  3. Select a role from the list.
  4. In the Widget Profile field, assign a widget profile.
  5. Select Save.
