Translate column and field labels that are displayed by the rendered Configurable Data Table (CDT).
Enable the CDT labels for translation by Translation Workbench
- Header labels—Leave the Data Table Label Override field empty when defining the Data Table Configuration.
- Field labels—Leave the Field Label Override field empty when defining fields to display in the CDT component. If you don't enter both Field Label Translation and Field Label Override, then the object field label value will be displayed.
- Row- and header-level action button labels—Leave the Row Button Label Override and Header Button Label Override empty when defining row- and header-level action buttons.
Use Translation Workbench to translate labels
Field labels
To translate standard Salesforce field labels
Salesforce automatically translates standard field labels as Created By, Last Modified By, and Owner.
- Go to Setup > Customize > Tab Names and Labels > Rename Tabs and Labels.
- Go to the Custom Tabs section.
- Select Edit next to the custom object that you specified in your CDT configuration.
- In the Record Name field, specify the Object record name translation.
- Select Save.
To translate custom field labels
- Go to Setup > Lightning Experience Transition Assistant > User Interface > Translation Workbench > Translate.
- Enter the following filter criteria:
- Language—As desired.
- Setup Component—Custom Field.
- Object—The object to display in the CDT component. For example, Product Group Action.
- Aspect—Field Label.
- Select Save.
Header labels
To define a new table header label
- Go to Setup > Сustom Labels.
- In the New Custom Label dialog, enter the new table header label value.
- Select Save.
To translate a table header label
- Go to Setup > Сustom Labels.
- Select the Name of the custom label.
- In the Translations section, select New.
- In the Translation Text field, enter your desired label.
- Select Save.
Action button labels
To translate global value sets in the CDT component, perform the following steps, only instead of Data Table Header Buttons Labels and Data Table Row Buttons Labels, choose any other global value set. For example, a Product Group Action status.
To define row- or header-level action button labels
- Go to Setup > Picklist Value Sets.
- Depending on the type of button you are defining, select the Data Table Row Buttons Labels or Data Table Header Buttons Labels global value set.
- In the Values section, enter a new value that will be translated.
- Select the Add the new picklist values to all Record Types that use this Global Value Set checkbox.
- Select Save.
- Go back to the Data Table Configuration page, and choose the newly created Row Button Label or Header Button Label from a dropdown.
To translate row- or header-level action button labels
- Go to Setup > Lightning Experience Transition Assistant > User Interface > Translation Workbench > Translate.
- Enter the following filter criteria:
- Language—As desired.
- Setup Component—Global Value Set.
- Select + to expand the Data Table Header Buttons Labels or Data Table Row Buttons Labels value sets.
- In the Value Label Translation section, enter the translation for the chosen value set.
- Select Save.
