Synchronize product hierarchy data between SAP ERP and Zilliant CPQ. A product hierarchy models the hierarchical relationships between products in a tree structure. This enables you to group products and define relationships between products and product groups at different levels.
Zilliant CPQ uses the hierarchy defined in SAP ERP to create a product category hierarchy while maintaining the hierarchical relationships from SAP ERP.
Synchronize product hierarchy data into CPQ
- Sign in to Zilliant CPQ with your administrator credentials.
- From the left navigation area, select Administration.
- From the top navigation bar, select Data Management.
- In the ERP Data Synchronization section, set the Product Hierarchy switch to YES.
Product hierarchy in SAP ERP
To define product hierarchy in SAP ERP, use transaction code v/76 that maintains V_T179 database table contents.
The product hierarchy level is determined by the hierarchy number. This number for the first hierarchy level is called a prefix. The number of prefix repetitions in the hierarchy number defines the level of the product hierarchy.
For example, in the following image, the hierarchy number is in the Product Hierarchy column and the product hierarchy level is in the Level no. column. The 00100 value in the Product Hierarchy column is a prefix that represents Level 1 products, and 0010000100 (two prefixes) represents Level 2 products.
When you integrate product hierarchy data from SAP ERP into Zilliant CPQ, hierarchy numbers are used as object names for product categories, and descriptions are used as labels. The hierarchy levels are maintained through parent-child relationships between product categories.
