Article summary

Use phone calls to track one-to-one conversations with customers. Sales reps can maintain account information and customer contact details for external calls and employee details for internal calls.

Create a phone call

  1. From the application left navigation area, select Activities.
  2. On the All Phone Calls tab, select .
  3. Enter information or make selections to define the phone call activity:
    • Phone Call Name—Enter the subject of the phone call.
    • Account—Select appropriate account to link to this phone call.
    • Participant—Select to add participants to this phone call.
    • Phone Number—Enter the phone number.
    • Start Date / Time—Set the date and time for when the phone call should start.
    • Due Date / Time—Set the due date and time for when the phone call should end.
    • Status—Default value is New.
    • Priority—Default value is Medium.
    • Related To—Select appropriate opportunity or quote to link to this phone call.
    • Attachments—Add relevant files.
    • Description—Enter a task description or any additional information.
  4. Select Create.

Configure phone calls

By default, tasks have the following characteristics when created:

  • Priority—Set to Medium.
  • Status—Set to New.

Phone call status

Note

You can't change the default option for a phone call status.

To check available phone call statuses:

  1. From the application left navigation area, select Administration.
  2. From the top navigation bar, select Master Data Management.
  3. Select Activity Phone Call Status.

Phone calls have the following statuses available:

  • 10—New
  • 20—In Process
  • 30—Completed
  • 40—Cancelled

Multi-language support for labels

To localize phone call status labels, perform the following steps:

  1. From the application left navigation area, select Administration.
  2. From the top navigation bar, select Master Data Management.
  3. Select Activity Phone Call Status.
  4. Select the status from the list, then select Localization.
  5. Define translations for the status labels.
  6. Select Save.
