Limit the number of lines

The number of lines displayed in the Edit Lines modal depends on the value set in the Edit Lines Modal Records Limit field in each Product Selector Configuration.

Prerequisites

Before configuring this feature, make sure that the Edit Lines Modal Records Limit field on Product Selector Configuration object is visible and can be edited.

If the field is not visible or can't be edited, confirm it has been added to the object's page layout and is visible in the user's profile. For detailed instructions on how to add fields and check for visibility, refer to Make fields visible or editable.

Procedure

1. From the Lightning App Launcher, go to a Product Selector Configuration.
2. On the Details tab, specify a value in the Edit Lines Modal Records Limit field or leave the field empty, then select Save.

Results vary depending on whether or not you enter a value:

• Value of 1 or greater—In the Add Lines component, if the following conditions exist, then an Add Lines Limit warning appears if a user attempts to add more lines than allowed by the configured limit:

  • You have configured automated line insertion with pre- and post-processing Apex callouts
  • The Workspace is not enabled
    The warning advises users to cancel the attempt or to save all new lines directly to the contract/agreement with their default values. In this case, the Edit Lines modal is bypassed entirely.

• Field left empty—In the Add Lines component, if the following conditions exist, then the added lines are first opened in the Edit Lines modal:

  • You have configured automated line insertion with pre- and post-processing Apex callouts
  • The Workspace is not enabled
    This enables users to make edits to the added lines before they are actually added to the agreement or quote.
