How Workspace works

Workspace is an optional feature of the Line Items component that you can use as a sandbox environment to experiment with lines. When you add line items to Workspace, you automatically prevent all other users from editing the same lines. You can also configure Workspace to revert line items to their original state if you don't want to commit the changes you've introduced.

You can work with the Workspace grid in two ways:

1. Display it with the Line Items grid. In this case, you will toggle between the two lists in the UI.
2. Configure the Line Items component to display only the Workspace grid. This allows you to use Workspace as a standalone, separate component, which you can view immediately after the page loads. This configuration of the Line Items component gives customers more flexibility when working with lines and eliminates the need to repeatedly toggle between the two grids.

Because Workspace is an extension of the Line Items component, they share the same set of configurable features. In Workspace, you can use:

• Header-level search bar
• Search filters
• Mass Edit
• Custom actions
