Note

You can combine Add Line Dialog Filters with a custom Apex callout. If you do this, the results of both approaches must evaluate as TRUE for any given product.

Prerequisites

Before configuring this feature, make sure that the following fields are visible and can be edited:

  • Pre-entry Fields Configurer Class Name on Product Selector Configuration object.
  • Products Search Filter object:
    • Filter Type
    • Product Field Name
    • Filter Field Value
    • Data Type
    • Is Visible
    • Is Removable

If the fields are not visible or can't be edited, confirm that they have been added to the object's page layout and are visible in the user's profile. For detailed instructions on how to add fields and check for visibility, refer to Make fields visible or editable.

Use Add Line Dialog Filters to hide products

  1. From the Lightning App Launcher, go to the appropriate Product Selector Configuration.
  2. On the Related tab, in the Add Line Dialog Filters section, select New.
  3. In the New Products Search Filter dialog, enter or make selections:
    • Filter Type—Select (Contract/Price Lookup) Field Value or User Entered Value.

    • Product Field Name—Specify the API name of the field on the Product2 object. This must be the field that has a value (for each product) that you want to compare against the Filter Field Value. This product field can be a standard Salesforce field or a Salesforce formula field.

    • Filter Field Value—Specify one of the following values, depending on the Filter Type:

      • Contract/Price Lookup Field Value—Enter the API name of a field (standard or salesformula) on the header object (Contract/Deal/Price Lookup) whose value you want to compare against the value of the Product Field Name.
      • User Entered Value—Enter a literal value that will be compared to the value of Product Field Name.

In all cases, the corresponding product from the Product2 object appears in the Add Products list only if the value of Product Field Name matches the value of Filter Field Value.

    • Data Type—Enter String, Numeric or Boolean. This is the data type of Product Field Name and Filter Field Value, which must be of the same data type.

    • Is Visible—Select to enable users to see the filter. This option is available only on the legacy Add Lines modal.

    • Is Removable—Select to enable users to delete this filter. This option is available only on the legacy Add Lines modal.

  4. Select Save.
