Configure agreement settings

Prev Next

Administrators can configure agreement types and the default agreement duration used when managing agreements. These settings ensure consistency, help reduce manual input, and align agreement setup with your business needs.

In this topic, learn how to:

Define agreement types

Administrators can define agreement types that appear in the Agreement Type field in the Create Agreement dialog and the Overview tab. To define agreement types:

  1. From the application left navigation area, select Administration.

  2. From the top navigation area, select Master Data Management.

  3. Move through or search to locate Sales Document Type and select it from the list.

  4. Select Add, then select the newly added, empty row.

  5. On the Configuration tab, enter or select values to define an agreement type:

    • Name—Enter a name for the agreement type.

    • ERP Id—(Optional.) ERP ID of the agreement type.

  6. Select Save.

  7. (Optional.) On the Localisation tab, in the Label field next to the needed languages, enter a translation of the agreement type name. Then select Save to save the changes.

Define default agreement duration

Administrators can define a default agreement duration, which CPQ uses to calculate the End Date when creating agreements. This helps ensure consistency and accuracy while managing agreements.

The End Date field in the Create Agreement dialog follows this logic:

  • The system sets the End Date to the Start Date plus the configured default duration.

  • When users change the Start Date, the system automatically updates the End Date to preserve the default agreement duration.

  • When users change the End Date:

    • If the End Date is later than the Start Date, the Start Date stays unchanged.

    • If the End Date is earlier than the Start Date, the system shows an error and resets the field.

To define the default agreement duration:

  1. From the application left navigation area, select Administration.

  2. From the top navigation area, select Master Data Management.

  3. Move through or search to locate Setting Numeric and select it from the list.

  4. Select Default Agreement Duration (Days).

  5. In the Setting Value Numeric field, enter the agreement duration in days.

  6. Select Save.
