Calculations
How flexible is the score calculation?
For this quick start configuration, Zilliant uses a simple scoring calculation that measures the goal of following price guidance when setting agreement prices. The calculation can change if your requirements differ. If the score calculation depends on data that is not preconfigured and installed with the quick start, adding that data is possible with additional integration.
What if I need different metrics?
If you need different metrics, you can modify expressions for existing metrics or create and display new metrics. You also can hide or remove columns or fields to customize your view.
If you need data that's not configured with this quick start, you can add entry fields to Deal Manager. Alternatively, contact your Zilliant implementation team to discuss data integration options.
Capabilities
Does the quick start support multi-country businesses?
Deal Manager and Quick Start for Agreement Management include features that support multi-country businesses.
You can create agreements in the currency of the account. All currency fields are calculated and converted for the currency of that agreement. Price guidance, list prices, and costs can be stored in a single corporate currency and converted to the correct agreement currency when brought into an agreement. As an add-on to the quick start, you can show individual fields in the corporate currency, even if all other agreement values are in the agreement currency.
Regardless of the currency of an agreement, the Zilliant implementation team can enable a feature that shows each value in two currencies—the currency of the agreement and the currency used by those signed in to Deal Manager.
The Zilliant implementation team can enable the translation of messages, controls, columns, and button labels into your local language.
Finally, most PDF solution candidates support generating text areas in the language of the agreement or account.
Can I import spreadsheet data?
You can import data from comma-separated value (CSV) files into this quick start. The implementation provides a template for .csv format that includes the appropriate column headings.
The Agreement Management feature enriches the basic line information from the CSV file with data such as price guidance, cost, and list prices. This calculates metrics on the line, as if it had been added manually through Deal Manager.
The import capabilities for multi-country allow users to change separator characters, decimal characters, and date formats to match the incoming CSV file format. This allows importing all standard global formats.
Can I generate, store, and email PDFs of agreements?
The Quick Start for Agreement Management does not directly offer a PDF generator, but the Zilliant implementation team will work with you to integrate a third-party application that supports PDF generation. Once created, the app supports storing the PDF with the agreement records and sending it by email.
Does the quick start offer analytics, dashboards, and reporting?
The Quick Start for Agreement Management supports a dashboard that displays relevant, agreement-related reports and action cards to help you identify and prioritize tasks. It also supports embedded reports at the agreement header and line levels. The quick start comes with a preconfigured dashboard, operational reports, and action cards.
Configuration
My company sells products with multiple units of measure (UoM) that customers and sales reps can choose. Does the quick start support that?
You can select the UoM on each line with conversion of all applicable fields and reference data to the selected unit.
Can I add lines at the Product, Category, and Family levels? Can the quick start be configured to offer agreement lines only at the Product level? What about more than three levels with different names other than Product, Category, and Family?
It is possible to reduce the number of line levels available. It is also possible to change the name of default line levels.
Deal Manager configuration supports adding more line levels or renaming existing levels. Contact your Zilliant implementation team for more information.
What if customers have different policy types than those provided by the implementation?
The Quick Start for Agreement Management supports removing the configured policy types or mass edit options for each level. It is also possible to add new policy types. The effort depends on the complexity of the calculations for the policy type or mass edit, and on whether the data required for that policy type is preconfigured as part of the quick start configuration.
Can I capture more data in the agreement header? Can I include additional fields?
The Quick Start for Agreement Management and Deal Manager support adding additional fields on the line and the agreement header. These can be one of the many offered data types, and include fields that are calculated by the application or entered by the user. It is possible to add fields that involve special lookup relationships or additional data to calculate with the incremental implementation.
Does the quick start support additional approval rules and levels if the requirement is more complex?
The Quick Start for Agreement Management comes with three predefined levels of approvals. The approval thresholds and routings can be easily modified with simple changes. If you need to remove or add an approval level, the quick start supports editing the existing approval structure.
If your business rules require more complex routing and need to use different approval managers beyond the standard hierarchy, that would be considered an extension.
Devices
Can I use my mobile device?
The Quick Start for Agreement Management is a mobile-enabled, out-of-the box configuration of Deal Manager.
For tablets, Zilliant recommends using a browser. Mobile phones require the Salesforce application for iPhone or Android.
Extensions
Does the quick start handle agreements attached to multiple accounts, or a “group account” to a single agreement?
The quick start is configured for one account record for each agreement. This account record can represent a group of accounts.
For more specialized requirements, your Zilliant implementation team can configure additional features supported by Deal Manager.
Integrations
Do I need Zilliant’s Price IQ or Price Manager pricing solutions to derive value from this quick start?
While you achieve incremental value from using Agreement Management and Deal Manager with Zilliant's other pricing solutions, such as Price IQ and Price Manager, the Quick Start for Agreement Management provides significant value to your business on its own.
If you want list price, cost, and price guidance, the Zilliant implementation team will work with you to integrate independently produced data through our standard data model and APIs.
Does the quick start support updated agreement lines across multiple agreements, such as when cost changes affect all customers?
To update multiple agreements from a single action, the quick start integrates with Zilliant's Campaign Manager and Price Manager solutions. As a result of this integration, pricing teams can create campaigns to update agreement lines across agreements. For example, you can push a cost increase to all fixed price agreement lines for products affected by that cost change.
I understand that the value of an agreement solution will help prevent old agreements from becoming out of date. If a legacy system is in place, can the Quick Start for Agreement Management address those agreement lines?
If the legacy agreements are loaded into Deal Manager, they can be managed at renewal time just as if they were created in the solution. One approach is to add an expiration date to those agreements when they are loaded, even if they do not have an expiration date in the existing system of record.
Because each legacy system is unique, the quick start implementation does not include the migration of existing agreements. Zilliant’s common data model supports this integration by transforming existing agreements into our data model. The effort to do this depends on the amount of transformation needed between the two applications and the openness of the legacy agreement system.
