About sublines on Deal Manager lines

You can configure two types of sublines on a line:

• Tiered pricing sublines—Enable users to specify different pricing tiers depending on the number of units.
• Parameter sublines—​Enable users to specify different pricing based on various product parameters.

Tiered pricing sublines

Tiered pricing enables you to assign different prices or discounts based on product volume. Tiered pricing sublines have two pre-defined columns: Range and Value.

Use tiered pricing for any business requirement that needs to differentiate a value for a single line against any other value. Common use cases include:

• A different price discount based on the total quantity of product on the parent line
• A different price based on the total number of product units on the parent line
• A different price discount based on the total extended revenue on this document
• A different price based on the total extended revenue on this document
• A different annual rebate based on the total number of product units purchased over the next 12 months
• A different annual rebate based on the total revenue of this product purchased over the next 12 months

To fit these use cases, additional fields can be added to the tiered sublines and/or labels of existing fields can be changed.

Parameter sublines

Parameter-based pricing allows users to customize their prices based on any attribute other than quantity. For example, your pricing might be influenced by a region where the product is warehoused. If a product is warehoused only in the Western region of a country, it's less expensive to ship that product to customers that are also located in the Western region, and more expensive to ship that product to customers that are in the Eastern region. In this case, you might want to define different subline pricing groups based on a Customer Region parameter.
