Article summary

Mass Edit is an optional, configurable feature of the Line Items component and its Workspace. When enabled, it allows users to perform formulaic, bulk edits on selected lines.

Mass edit is suitable for situations where sales representatives must edit large numbers of lines on the same agreement. For example, when working with renewal agreements, sales representatives can use the Mass Edit feature to update multiple lines with the Fixed Price policy type to match current costs.

Steps to configure Mass Edit

  1. Choose to configure one of two possible configurations:
    • A configuration with a custom IQA call
    • A non-IQA call configuration
      Tip
      • If the change that you wish to introduce requires a formula recalculation from Zilliant’s Formula Evaluation Service (FES) or data from zCloud, then you must configure the Mass Edit Policy Type with an IQA call.
      • Otherwise, use the non-IQA call option. Using a non-IQA call option improves the system's performance because there is no dependency on the FES recalculations or zCloud.
  2. Define a Mass Edit Policy Type.
  3. On a Product Selector Configuration for either the Line Items component or Workspace, in the Mass Edit Option dialog, add the Mass Edit Policy Type.
    Tip
    • Each Mass Edit Policy Type can call one IQA Configuration.
    • You can use Mass Edit Policy Types across more than one Product Selector Configuration.
  4. Enable the Mass Edit action button on the Line Items component.

For more information on each one of the steps, see Configure Mass Edit.
