Worksheets and their data sources

IQ Interface worksheets allow you to flexibly view and manage data. Each IQ Interface worksheet contains data rows and columns from one or more data sources that are hosted in the Zilliant cloud. Typical data sources include information about your customers, product categories, product costs, and product prices.

Each IQ Interface worksheet has a primary data source and related data sources.

Primary data sources

When you create a worksheet, the data source you select becomes the worksheet's primary data source. Its columns are referred to as input columns. By default, you can edit the columns from the primary data source, but you can optionally configure some of them to be non-editable. For more information, read Input columns.

Related data sources

You can also add related columns to worksheets. These columns are pulled from data sources other than the worksheet's primary data source. You cannot edit related columns because they are read-only, but you can use their values in formula expressions for the calculated columns in a worksheet. For more information, read about related columns and calculated columns.

The structure of the IQ Interface as a cloud-based spreadsheet means that data is automatically and securely collected and stored. When you update data in worksheets, those changes are instantly pushed back to their underlying data sources.
