Publish scenario

Scenarios enable you to effectively review, analyze, and update data, working separately from your active data until you're ready to publish.

Prerequisites

You must have the Admin, Pricing Manager, or Pricing Analyst role.

You must be familiar with frameworks and how they work.

Before you continue

When you select Publish in Publish scenario, the system doesn’t allow other members to perform the same action unless you exit the publishing process.

Publish scenario

Learn how to:

Publish a scenario

  1. In the left navigation panel, select Pricing to view the Manage page.

  2. To the right of the Active Pricing tab, select a scenario.

  3. Select Publish.

  4. Confirm changes, then select Pricing Updates.

  5. Review pricing updates, then select Final Review.

  6. Perform a final review.

  7. Select Publish Updates.

When you select Publish Updates, this causes the system to begin publishing changes and updates from your scenario to your organization’s active pricing. When complete, the system then begins updating existing scenarios according to the active pricing’s framework details. Members can’t edit scenarios until the system finishes performing these processes.

Confirm changes

Review changes to your KPIs based on the transaction data time frame. The default time frame is the past 365 calendar days from the last transaction and transaction line data import.

Select each tab to review changes you made in the framework’s cost or price table and in your adjustment groups’ scopes. You can import costs or prices, create or edit adjustments, and filter the displayed changes based on the tab you select.

Review pricing updates

Review changes to your KPIs based on the transaction data time frame. The default time frame is the previous 365 calendar days from the last transaction and transaction line data import.

Select each tab to review how your price overrides and confirmed changes affect each calculation table in your framework.

You can filter the displayed changes. Applying filters before publishing a scenario allows you to:

  • Test your new strategy on a subset of data before rolling the strategy out globally

  • Limit changes and updates to specific products or customers

  • Reduce publishing errors from possible data mismatches

For more details, read Search and filter records and Manage record table columns.

Perform a final review

Select each tab to review the following changes and updates:

  • Changes to your framework’s cost or price table

  • Changes to your framework’s adjustments

  • Calculated price updates based on the above changes

  • Any price overrides you made in Review pricing updates

You can filter the displayed changes and updates in each tab. For more details, read Search and filter records and Manage record table columns.

Cancel publish

When you publish a scenario, you can’t revert active pricing to its previous state.

To exit the publishing process, go to the upper left corner and select Back until the application returns you to the scenario.
