# Refresh worksheet data

## Refresh worksheets

By default, worksheets are set to refresh automatically when you make changes. If you prefer to refresh data manually, switch off the **Refresh Automatically** toggle at the top of a worksheet.

The state of the **Refresh Automatically** toggle is saved in your personal settings.

If you don't see the **Refresh Automatically** toggle, learn how to [add](/v1/docs/refresh-worksheet-data#add-refresh-automatically-toggle) it to a worksheet.

At any time, refresh worksheet data manually by selecting **Refresh**.

## Add Refresh Automatically toggle

To add the **Refresh Automatically** toggle to a worksheet:

1. Select Properties.
2. On the **Worksheet General Properties** page, select the **Show "Refresh Automatically" Toggle** option.

The **Refresh Automatically** toggle appears at the top of the worksheet.
