Then, configure how data that is updated in scenarios (which were created from your template) is published back into the base workbook. Learn how to: - [Configure data load](/v1/docs/configure-data-load-and-publishing#configure-data-load) - [Configure data publishing](/v1/docs/configure-data-load-and-publishing#configure-data-publishing) ## Configure data load Follow these steps to specify the source from which data will be loaded into your template. Note Perform the following steps for each worksheet in your template workbook. 1. Open your template workbook, then select a worksheet. 2. Select Properties. 3. In the left panel, select **Source Data**, then select **New**. 4. In the **Source Workbook** dropdown list, select your base workbook. 5. In the **Source Worksheet** dropdown list, select a worksheet in the base workbook. 6. In the **Mapping** section, map columns. 1. Find a row with the name of the source column under **Source Worksheet Column**. 2. In that row, under **Current Worksheet Column**, select a name of the target column in your template. 3. Repeat Step 6a and 6b for each source column that you want to load into your template. Example of configuration: ![Configure Source Data](https://cdn.document360.io/24f960e8-3c1c-4c18-a2c6-83b6ae4aab84/Images/Documentation/Configure%20Source%20Data%201.1%281%29.png?sv=2026-02-06&spr=https&st=2026-10-30T19%3A17%3A14Z&se=2026-10-30T20%3A17%3A14Z&sr=c&sp=r&sig=BYPemgWpHNG3xBulntKXo5ffnLHxabzji0IRLNp27CE%3D) Tip You do not need to configure mapping for calculated and related columns in the template. ## Configure data publishing To configure data publishing, you must establish a connection between two worksheets: a template worksheet that contains updated base data, and a worksheet in the base workbook into which you want to publish that data. Then, you will define specific columns in the template worksheet that you want to associate with particular columns in the base worksheet. Important Perform the following steps for each worksheet in your template workbook. 1. Map your template worksheet to a worksheet in the base workbook. 1. In the **Template Configuration** workbook, go to the **Publish Target** worksheet. 2. Find a row with the name of the template worksheet. 3. In that row, in the **Publish Target Entity** column, enter the entity name of the worksheet from the base workbook. Tip To find the entity name, open a worksheet, select Properties > **General properties** > locate the **Source entity** field. 4. In the **Filters** column, optionally specify the filter expression in JSON format to limit which data should be published (for example, `{"filterName": "Publish","filterExpression": "Publish eq 1"}`). 2. Map columns from the worksheets which you mapped in Step 1. 1. In the **Template Configuration** workbook, go to the **Fields** worksheet. 2. Find a row with the name of the column from your template worksheet. 3. In that row, in the **Publish Target** column, enter the system name of the column from the base workbook. 4. Repeat Steps 2a–2c for each needed column. Important You must map all business keys. #### Example You have the **Base Data** base workbook and the **Update Z Prices** template. You want to publish data from the **FinalStartDate** column in the **Update Z Prices > List Prices Update** worksheet into the **ValidFrom** column in the **Base Data > List Prices** worksheet. To do this, go to the **Template Configuration > Publish Target** worksheet and enter the entity name of the **Base Data > List Prices** worksheet. ![Configure data publishing](https://cdn.document360.io/24f960e8-3c1c-4c18-a2c6-83b6ae4aab84/Images/Documentation/Configure%20data%20publishing%20PM%201%281%29.png?sv=2026-02-06&spr=https&st=2026-10-30T19%3A17%3A14Z&se=2026-10-30T20%3A17%3A14Z&sr=c&sp=r&sig=BYPemgWpHNG3xBulntKXo5ffnLHxabzji0IRLNp27CE%3D) Then, go to the **Template Configuration > Fields** worksheet and specify the system name of your target column (**ValidFrom**) from the **Base Data > List Prices** worksheet. ![Configure data publishing 2](https://cdn.document360.io/24f960e8-3c1c-4c18-a2c6-83b6ae4aab84/Images/Documentation/Configure%20data%20publishing%20PM%202.png?sv=2026-02-06&spr=https&st=2026-10-30T19%3A17%3A14Z&se=2026-10-30T20%3A17%3A14Z&sr=c&sp=r&sig=BYPemgWpHNG3xBulntKXo5ffnLHxabzji0IRLNp27CE%3D) Master data table. This workbook serves as the source of data that is loaded into templates and resulting scenarios, and the target for data that is updated and published in scenarios. A scenario is a "what if" version of a strategy sheet. By experimenting with different optimization strategy lines, price optimization strategies, and strategy parameters in each scenario, you can compare the price review reports in each scenario to determine which scenario yields the best overall price optimization results. ![](https://cdn.document360.io/24f960e8-3c1c-4c18-a2c6-83b6ae4aab84/Images/Glossary/settings_60.png?sv=2026-02-06&spr=https&st=2026-10-30T19%3A17%3A14Z&se=2026-10-30T20%3A17%3A14Z&sr=c&sp=r&sig=BYPemgWpHNG3xBulntKXo5ffnLHxabzji0IRLNp27CE%3D) Properties
