This allows you to share data or work with it in another application. Note - By default, import and export functions for a workbook are enabled. If they have been disabled, you can [re-enable them](/v1/docs/import-and-export-data#enable-import-and-export). - To ensure the proper recognition of thousands and decimal separators, make sure regional settings in Windows and Salesforce match each other. ## Import data 1. Open a worksheet and select Import. 2. Select an import type, then select **Next.** - **Insert**—Inserts new records. - **Upsert**—Inserts new records and updates existing records. - **Replace**—Inserts new records and deletes existing records. Note To prevent destructive changes to existing data, the **Replace** option may be disabled. Learn how to [enable the **Replace** option](/v1/docs/import-and-export-data#enable-the-replace-option). 1. Select a CSV file to upload. 2. In the **Settings** area, select a column separator, then select **Next**. 3. On the mapping page, review **Column from Worksheet** mappings and make desired changes. - Mapping is automatic if: - The CSV column name exactly matches a worksheet column name. - The CSV column name doesn't match a worksheet column name, but does match an underlying system name for a field in the worksheet's data source. - If neither automatic mapping condition is met, you can manually map the CSV column to a worksheet column name. - Unmapped columns are not imported. 4. Select **Finalize**. ## Export data To export a worksheet as a CSV file: 1. Open a worksheet and select Export. 2. Enter a name for the exported CSV file. 3. Optionally select a column separator. 4. Select **Save**. 5. When export completes, click the link in the status message to download the file. ## Enable import and export 1. Open a workbook and select Properties. 2. Select the **Enable import** and **Enable export** options. 3. Select **Save**. ## Enable the Replace option 1. Open a worksheet and select Properties. 2. Make sure the **Enable import** option is selected. (You can't show the **Replace** option if the **Enable import** option is not selected.) 3. Select the **Show Replace** option. ![](https://cdn.document360.io/24f960e8-3c1c-4c18-a2c6-83b6ae4aab84/Images/Glossary/upload_60.png?sv=2026-02-06&spr=https&st=2026-11-04T20%3A10%3A27Z&se=2026-11-04T21%3A10%3A27Z&sr=c&sp=r&sig=%2FcgA4VLNXgmtL3SysstjHQNCHVCv47v7FkN7HuE31OU%3D) Import ![](https://cdn.document360.io/24f960e8-3c1c-4c18-a2c6-83b6ae4aab84/Images/Glossary/download_60.png?sv=2026-02-06&spr=https&st=2026-11-04T20%3A10%3A27Z&se=2026-11-04T21%3A10%3A27Z&sr=c&sp=r&sig=%2FcgA4VLNXgmtL3SysstjHQNCHVCv47v7FkN7HuE31OU%3D) Export ![](https://cdn.document360.io/24f960e8-3c1c-4c18-a2c6-83b6ae4aab84/Images/Glossary/settings_60.png?sv=2026-02-06&spr=https&st=2026-11-04T20%3A10%3A27Z&se=2026-11-04T21%3A10%3A27Z&sr=c&sp=r&sig=%2FcgA4VLNXgmtL3SysstjHQNCHVCv47v7FkN7HuE31OU%3D) Properties
