The Entity Import Service (EIS) imports data from a CSV file into Zilliant logical entities. You define how EIS should interpret the file (delimiter, locale, date formats, numeric symbols), how CSV columns map to entity fields, and what import mode to use. EIS then runs the import and provides endpoints to track status, review the report, and download an error file for rows that failed.

EIS is a good fit when you need to:

  • Load or refresh master data in logical entities from external systems

  • Perform bulk updates using repeatable mappings

  • Migrate data between environments

How to use EIS

  1. Send your file metadata and invoke the import process.

  2. Upload your file to the storage.

  3. Import your file into the target entity.

  4. Check the import status.

  5. Get the import report.

  6. Get an error file with rows that weren't imported and the reasons for that.
